Read the notes below: So I bought the D7000 a couple of weeks ago. I bought it for the Video capabilities and as a possible replacement to the D700. Here are a few things no one seems to be talking about... cutting through the hype.... 1. HOT PIXELS. Lots of them. (Yes.. those little colorful specs are hot pixels. Visible at all ISOs, but obviously worse at high ISO like 3200). 2. Currently no extra batteries available. Good luck shooting video and photos for more than a couple of hours. And they introduced a new battery (EN-EL15) which no other camera uses. 3. No power cord. Nikon lists a power connector on the website.. but it is two (2) separate products. A cord/outlet jack and a second cord/battery compartment attachment that goes into the battery compartment. No price yet, but expect to 0 for both. 4. Vertical grip (MB-D11) is yet to surface. Even when it does it will be 0-0 and where are the batteries to go in it? A give it a few months before the cheaper aftermarket versions pop up on eBay. 5. No Articulating screen. Where is the swivel screen from the D5000? An articulating screen is a MUST for shooting video. PERIOD. Why they left this out is simply another example of planned obsolescence. 6. With all the goofy additional features they add.. 'retouching'..'Continuous Autofocus', etc. they always remove a favorite feature with a new release... point in question.. On the D700 I have programed the 'OK' button to zoom to 100% in playback. This lets me ...
