How to setup the Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition and how to render the BEST possible video for YouTube. *USE VEGAS PRO 9.0C! *Be sure to capture gameplay using the Playstation setting, even if you play on the Xbox. Vegas prefers the m2ts files to mp4. (If you capture using the Xbox setting, you'll only see the top corner of your video when you drop the video into Vegas.) * If you are not seeing gameplay in the preview screen of Archsoft or on your HDTV, be sure you have updated drivers that you have your console set to 720p HD. Updated driver can be found here: www.mediafire.com *You NEED to use component cables and have an HDTV to capture in HD. The only other option is to buy a hdmi to component cable converter... *Lastly, if your final rendered video looks a tad choppy, change the rendering frame rate to 60fps. Gaming Editiong FAQ Below - EXPAND! - Does this work on PC and Mac? Yes it works on both. It comes with software for windows, however you will need to buy software for it to work on mac (EyeTV3 is best) - How much was it? £180, thats about 0ish (it includes all the cables required) - Will it work with a Standard definition TV? No. It needs to be an HD TV. - Whats the difference between the Gaming edition and the normal PVR? The gaming edition comes with all the cables required to record, and it makes slightly smaller files when recording. Everything else (including quality) is the same between the two. The Gaming Edition has a different look with the black gloss and green LED light. - Where can I buy it? I got mine from Amazon, just google search it and you'll find various places where you can order one. - Can I still use my headset with the PVR? Yes. **HOW TO SETUP YOUR HD PVR** 1 - Plug the PVR in using the Power Adapter that came with it. 2 - Plug the PS3/Xbox Component lead into the console, and then correctly place all 5 wires into the "IN" slots at the back of the PVR. 3 - Get the double ended Component cable and connect 1 side into the "OUT" slots of the PVR, and connect the other side into the back of your TV. 4 - Connect the PVR to your Computer using the USB cable provided. 5 - Install the Software provided (or download 3rd party - EyeTV3 is great for Macs). 6 - You're PVR should be working and will be ready to record!
