Hardware & Design The DROID Charge By Samsung comes with the high-end design that you expect from top-tier android smartphones made by Samsung. The 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display is amazing to look at and the handset feels goods in the hands with its thicker but light body. There is a curve in on the bottom back which makes it rest in your hand nice. There is a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat and a 8 megapixel rear facing camera which I did a detailed review on and the camera is solid and the closes I've seen in quality since the Nokia E7. You have a HDMI port for plugging into your TV but no included HDMI cable which is lame the Infuse 4G included it and this should have as well. Internally there is a 1.0 Ghz application processor which is nice and fast, 1600 mAH battery and 32 GB SD card pre-installed. To round it up and great hardware package here. Software & Usability The DROID Charge runs Android 2.2 with Touch Wiz UI on top of it. It's the earlier version of Touch Wiz and not the new Touch Wiz 4.0 which is on the Galaxy S II. Also with that the device has a very boxy shape and gives it a sleek and professional look. The material on the back gives the Playbook a nice feel and good grip. The 7 inch screen with a 1024 x 600 display is looks great. Pictures looks sharp and clear and video is smooth with no lag and look great. Some people make worry that the screen is too small but with the Blackberry Tablet OS built for this size screen from the ground up everything works solid on it. The stereo speakers on the front are some of the best speakers I have heard on a tablet. The speakers are located in a common spot where you would place your hands on a tablet so you will need to make sure that you hold the tablet below the speakers so not to block the great sound out of them. Hardware The unit is built with the usually high quality that Sony is known for and its actually a bit heavier that it looks but that's due to the Blu-Ray player that comes with the unit. The casing is made of all plastic that is white with a black top that looks to be a fingerprint and dust magnet. Microsoft has finally listened and gives us a brand new special edition controller with a transforming d-pad and we give out review of it. Hardware While this controller looks pretty much like the original there is some key physical and cosmetic changes to it. First is obviously the transforming d-pad which you simply turn like a dial and it will change between the disc d-pad and the new d-pad which takes an old school form factor. Pretty simple to turn and feel very sturdy. The other changes comes cosmetically with the sliver and black color which also comes into play with the buttons which are no longer the standard blue, yellow, green, red, colors, The are pretty much different shad combinations of black, silver and grey. the controller has a bit of a different feel to it that from the original and feels a bit more comfortable in the hand. Rounding up the hardware is the included rechargeable battery and included USB cable for charging. Usage The change in the D-Pad works and works very well especially for games that require a lot of D-Pad action.
